Ready To Progress Tests Year 5

These tests have been designed to check and identify any gaps in learning and inform teachers about children’s readiness to progress to the next stage of learning.

There are 4 papers, each with 24 questions, based on the 24 CanDoMaths Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)*. Each question is worth one mark.

Paper 1 focuses on topics taught in the first half of the previous year, and checks on any potential ‘lost’ learning, i.e. the questions in Year 5 Paper 1 focus on KPIs 1 to 12 of Year 4

Paper 2 focuses on topics that would have been taught during March to July, i.e. the questions in Year 5 Paper 2 focus on KPIs 13 to 24 of Year 4

Paper 3 focuses on topics taught in the first half of this academic year, i.e. the questions in Year 5 Paper 3 focus on KPIs 1 to 12 of Year 5

Paper 4 focuses on topics taught in the second half of this academic year, i.e. the questions in Year 5 Paper 4 focus on KPIs 13 to 24 of Year 5

A Question Level Analysis (QLA) tool is also provided to support the diagnostic analysis of the tests that produces a mathematical profile and inform next steps for individual children, whole classes and/or whole school.
